The level of disruption your new water filter will cause depends very much on which system you choose. Our whole of house water filters can often require quite a lot of extra plumbing and connecting to the mains as it enters your house so we do not recommend installing these in your rental property. However all of our under sink water filter systems fit easily under your tap. It’s a simple case of attaching the water filter to the plumbing underneath your sink.

For those of you who are worried about the effects of un-filtered water in your shower, most shower filters act as a replacement shower head that can be attached easily, often without the help of a professional.

Cost

The point of use water filter options like the under sink and shower filter can cost anywhere between $40-$500 with installation. The actual filter systems themselves will last for many years with only the cartridges needing replacing. But why would you care about the long service life of something you have installed in your rental property?

When You Leave

This is the real beauty of the point of use systems, they all detach from your plumbing as easily as they are installed. For the under-sink systems you can remove the filtration system and reconnect the pipe using a suitable plumbing fitting. If you have opted for a shower filter, simply keep the old shower head somewhere and replace it when you leave. Both these systems can be continually removed and reinstalled at any new property, whether you are renting or when you own your own home.
